Fluer de Flu.

(I dont know what fluer means, but it sounds way nicer than flu.)
The only nice thing about the flu is that I have an excuse to stay in bed and blogstalk for wedding ideas.
Yep, the only nice thing.

Five isn't a large number.

I hate all the countdowns on Facebook, but it just hit me that we are getting married in 5 more weeks. We only have 5 more Sunday's without being married. It was a strange realization that it is that close since it has seemed so far away for a while.

Ebay is not a new invention, Ashley.

So I am aware that Ebay is not new to the block and that Etsy is great, but sometimes Etsy just doesn't do. Especially for things like wedding bands. So Tyler's cousin said she bought her husbands wedding band from Ebay because he already lost his first one. I asked if she was bummed and she said "No because it was like 20 bucks."

Can you say awesome?
Now, we are insuring my ring, of course. Tyler even read a story about a girl dropping her engagement ring in the toilet and said "If that happened to us I would be sure to tear the whole toilet apart." I am sure you would Tyler, I am sure you would.

But if he drops his in the toilet, I am just bidding on a new one.
BAM, and that's how you handle a wedding band 6 weeks before your wedding.

Invites?

So I work with the amazing Dresden. I found her blog when I was looking for someone to do our invites. I had no idea she was so talented when I came across her work, but she is going to school for graphic design. I saw these that she did on her blog. And I loved them. So I emailed her a picture of what I wanted our invites to be and she did it! She did everything for me. Envelopes and all. She is awesome.

If you need anyone to do your invites, I would recommend contacting her. She is so reasonable that I actually kind of feel bad. She is the greatest and I can not tell you how easy she was to work with. Really, thank you Dresden. She just did everything for me and then showed it to me so we could tweak it.
I can't wait to show them to all of you!

Today

We are going to register. Who knows what we will register for and what we will end up getting.
Let's hope that Tyler can handle me when registering while having the flu. It's just got to get done at this point.

But, if you are getting married I found these checklists that really really help. My sister forgot a trash can and a microwave. They didn't buy a microwave for a while because they didn't want to spend the money on it so they heated everything up in the oven or stove top. Tyler and I will be sure to register for both those things now. She also forgot to eat on her wedding day and threw up outside of the temple. I think that story is really funny, but also another good reminder to eat on the big day. Those are the lessons learned and the joys of having older (much older) siblings who have been through this before.

Good luck to all the other brides (which seems to be everyone around me right now)!

Know what?

No one ever tells you the things that stink about being engaged...
Here they are for you, and you are welcome for warning you.

1. You never sleep because you are thinking of other ways to arrange the tables in the ball room.
2. You never sleep because you have to sleep alone because you are not married yet. DUH.
3. You never sleep because you know that you have some more research to do on center pieces.
4. You never sleep because not all dresses you think are cute will look cute on all your bridesmaids.
5. You never sleep because there are thousands of wedding blogs that post new things each day!
6. You get in the funniest-after-the-fact disagreements about wedding plans.
7. You stress about every little detail, yet you don't even have the big things figured out. ("Where are you going to live?" "WE HAVE NO CLUE!")
8. You have a pretty ring on your finger that distracts you when you drive in day light or under a street light.
9. You feel bad for pawning things off to your family to do because you can't do it all.
10. You aren't married yet so you still have rent to pay separately. (Unless you are me and he lives with his family still. Thank Heavens.)

Really though, number 2 is the hardest. And 1-5 is true. You just never sleep. Unless your whole wedding is being planned by Vogue Magazine. Then I think I would sleep like a baby. Perhaps never even wake up.
But being engaged really is great, until you plan a wedding. Then things get fuzzy and you get tired. Enjoy!
